Its just another attempt for a large company to place pressure on parents to purchase big ticket items for their children. Children in today's generation are spoiled with all of the luxuries of cell phones, computers, game systems and the like.
What is more insane now-a-days is that the game systems cost upwards of $600 after a game, extra controller and an add-on. Then they need $1500 TV's in order to utilize the actual gaming system to what it is capable of. Then there are expensive cell phones and laptops and lcd screens, always seems like whatever you have is not good enough.

PlayStation, late to the game as always.. Who would be interested in that?
Although, if you didn't have a PSP or a cell phone already - it might be pretty neat!
